JFK to
the Hamptons.
The best of the three major airports for the East End — and still a real drive.

JFK to the Hamptons Car Service
Of the three New York airports, this is the one.
Manhattan Black Car Service provides private car service from John F. Kennedy International Airport directly to the Hamptons and Montauk — East Hampton, Southampton, Bridgehampton, Water Mill, Sag Harbor, Amagansett and the North Fork — and back to JFK for the return flight.
JFK sits at the western end of Long Island, which makes it the closest of the three major airports to the East End. You still cross most of the island, and on a summer Friday that is the whole journey rather than a detail.
Working Here
Three things about this route.
You never enter Manhattan
And you shouldn't.
The run east goes straight from the terminal along the Belt or the Southern State. Routing through the city adds an hour for nothing.
Summer Fridays are the journey
Not a factor in it.
East End traffic on a Friday afternoon is severe and seasonal. Departure timing is planned around the day, and an evening arrival is a different trip from a morning one.
Republic and Islip are closer still
And we'll say so.
If you can land at FRG or ISP instead, the drive shortens considerably. JFK is the best of the three majors, not the best option overall.
How People Book
Four things this booking includes.
Flight watched from departure
So a delay moves the pickup rather than costing you the car.
Wait from the gate
45 minutes domestic, 60 international, counted from when the aircraft reaches the gate.
Meet and greet, if you want it
$25 for up to an hour. Worth it after a long-haul arrival with checked bags.
The return leg
Back to JFK, planned backwards from the flight and around the day of the week.
Around Here
Where on the East End.
All in both directions, direct from the terminal.
Hotels & resorts
Gurney’s Montauk and Gurney’s Star Island, Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, The Maidstone and EHP Resort in East Hampton, The American Hotel in Sag Harbor, Baker House 1650, the Southampton Inn, Marram and The Surf Lodge in Montauk, and the private houses and rentals across the East End.
Southampton & Water Mill
The first of the villages heading east, and the shortest of these runs.
Bridgehampton & Sagaponack
The middle stretch, and the busiest on a summer weekend.
East Hampton & Amagansett
Further east, where an early departure from JFK matters most.
Sag Harbor
Off the main road, with village streets where the drop point is worth agreeing.
Montauk
The far end — the longest of these journeys by a clear margin.
Choosing a Vehicle
Long-haul arrivals travel heavy.
A summer arrival with checked bags and a week’s luggage rarely fits a sedan.

Why Manhattan Black Car Service
Four things that apply on this route.
Licensed
NYC TLC Base B03644
Every chauffeur holds a New York City TLC licence and is vetted before driving.
Timing set by the day
Not a standard allowance.
A Friday afternoon arrival and a Tuesday morning one are different journeys, and departure is planned accordingly.
Early
In position before you land.
Your chauffeur is in place before the aircraft is on the ground, with a text when you clear.
One rate
Traffic changes. Your rate doesn't.
Set at booking, with tolls and gratuity included. No increase in rush hour or after an event.
Questions
Common questions.
Is a private car better than a bus tour for seeing New York?
For most visitors, yes. A bus tour runs a fixed route on a fixed schedule. A chauffeur takes you door to door in any order, stops whenever you want, and is unaffected by weather.
How many hours do I need to see New York properly?
Four hours covers two or three areas without rushing. Six to eight covers the city comfortably. Both are booked hourly with 12 miles included per hour within New York City.
Do I need to plan the route in advance?
No, and it is better not to over-plan. Tell your chauffeur roughly what interests you and adjust as the day goes — hourly service exists precisely because plans change.
Can we stop for lunch and bathroom breaks?
Yes, as often as you like. There is no charge for additional stops within an hourly booking, and stopping for coffee or a bathroom is completely normal.
What happens if it rains?
Very little. You travel door to door and wait in the car rather than in the weather, which is the main reason visitors choose this over walking tours in winter or high summer.
Can we go to Brooklyn and DUMBO?
Yes. DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge Park are among the best stops in the city, particularly in late afternoon when the light on the bridge and skyline is at its best.
Can we shop and leave the bags in the car?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people book this way. Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue and SoHo are far more enjoyable when the shopping goes straight into the vehicle.
Is this suitable for older visitors or anyone with limited mobility?
It is usually the most comfortable option. There is no walking between stops, no stairs and no standing, and the car is always nearby when someone needs to sit down.
Can the chauffeur suggest where to go?
Yes. Our chauffeurs know the city well and will suggest an order that avoids the worst traffic and reaches each area at a sensible time of day.
Can we combine sightseeing with an airport pickup or hotel check-in?
Yes. A common booking is collection from the airport, a day in the city with luggage in the vehicle, and finishing at the hotel when the room is ready.
