Premium SUV
Our default recommendation.
The Premium SUV is the Chevrolet Suburban, Lincoln Navigator and GMC Yukon, carrying six passengers and five bags. We run more than a hundred across the three.
It is what we recommend for most bookings: families, airport transfers, long-haul arrivals and any journey where luggage, seats or comfort decide the vehicle. The fully electric Cadillac VISTIQ sits in this class for clients who want the space without the engine.
Capacity
What it holds.
Five bags with six passengers. With fewer passengers the third row folds and luggage space increases considerably.

Why This One
Four reasons we recommend it first.
The view from the back
A higher seating position changes the journey.
You sit above the traffic rather than in it. Over an hour on the Long Island Expressway or four to Boston, that is the difference people notice most.
Room a sedan cannot offer
Six passengers, five bags.
Legroom, headroom and a trunk that takes checked luggage. Three people with three bags do not fit a sedan — this is the class that solves it.
Over 100 in the fleet
Availability is rarely the problem.
Between this class and the Escalade we run more than three hundred SUVs, which is why short-notice requests here are usually met.
The electric option is here
The Cadillac VISTIQ.
A fully electric three-row SUV, by advance request and quoted individually, for clients who want the space without the engine.
Who Books It
Six evenings it suits.
Anywhere luggage, seats or comfort exceed a sedan.
Families
Two adults, two children in seats, and everything that travels with them.
Airport transfers
JFK, LaGuardia and Newark, particularly long-haul arrivals with checked bags.
Cruise transfers
Manhattan, Brooklyn and Cape Liberty — more luggage than almost any other trip.
City-to-city journeys
Boston, Washington or the Hamptons, where space matters over hours rather than minutes.
Corporate teams
Four or five colleagues with materials, travelling together rather than separately.
Weekend travel
The Hamptons, Connecticut and the shore, with a weekend’s luggage and sometimes a dog.
When Not To
Three times to book something else.
We would rather say so at booking than at the kerb.
A passenger who cannot climb
Book a sedan instead.
An SUV sits high, which suits most people and not everyone. Where a passenger has limited mobility, a sedan’s lower step-in is the kinder choice — tell us and we will assign one.
Seven or more passengers
Book a Sprinter.
Six is the limit here, and a seventh person means a second vehicle or a class up.
A tight downtown street
Ask about the pickup point.
On a cobbled SoHo block or a narrow brownstone street, an SUV may need to collect from the corner rather than the door.
Compare
The class either side of it.
First Class SUV
The Cadillac Escalade — same capacity, higher specification, over 200 in the fleet.
Executive Sprinter
Fourteen passengers and eight bags, for a group travelling together.

Questions
Premium SUV, answered.
How many SUVs does RideSoHo run?
More than a hundred in this class, and over two hundred Escalades in the First Class SUV class — more than three hundred SUVs in total.
Which SUVs are in the Premium class?
The Chevrolet Suburban, Lincoln Navigator and GMC Yukon. A specific model can be requested at booking, subject to availability.
Why do you recommend an SUV over a sedan?
Higher seating, considerably more room and a trunk that takes checked luggage. The exception is a passenger who finds climbing in difficult, where a sedan is the kinder vehicle.
Is there an electric SUV?
Yes, the Cadillac VISTIQ, a fully electric three-row SUV available by advance request and quoted individually.
How many child seats can it take?
Each seat uses one passenger space. Two seats plus two adults is four of the six spaces, before luggage is considered.
Can an SUV collect from a narrow downtown street?
Sometimes not at the door. On cobbled or one-way blocks the pickup point may be a corner nearby, agreed when you book.
What happens if a Premium SUV is not available?
We contact you in advance to agree an alternative, or cancel the reservation at no cost. We do not send something different without telling you first.
Can a dog travel in a Premium SUV?
Yes, by advance request, in a carrier for small pets. Service animals always travel.
